We started working out a few weeks ago. We’ve been diligent about sticking to our diet and not exceeding our appropriate number of calories allotted a day. We’ve been waking up early and going to the gym religiously. I am very proud of both of us for doing so well and for sticking with the routine.
But a pat on the back is not what I want…. I just want to let people know that it’s possible to drop the pounds and get in shape. We feel awesome.. the healthiest we have been in years. In the first week that we started working out, I wanted to cry, vomit, and pass out. I felt like the burning sensation in my legs would never go away. I would stop every 10 minutes to catch my breath and would continue slowly. In two weeks, I built enough endurance to continue without stopping. In less than a month, I doubled the number of calories I can burn on the elliptical and can do it with ease. I feel like I have more energy, even though I’ve been waking up at 5:30AM every day. Getting so much accomplished before we even head into the office feels amazing. This is the best thing we’ve done for ourselves in a long time.
I won’t sit here and tell you it’s easy or that you’ll see over night results. I will tell you that having my husband by my side has been the main reason why I have been able to continue reaching my goals. Without him, I wouldn’t have started working out… or kept up with it and pushed myself through the pain. I wouldn’t have rolled out of bed at 5:30AM when the sun is barely out and the coffee isn’t fully brewed yet.
