If you could have someone represent you and look out for your best interests, would you? Of course. Now what if it didn’t cost you anything? Real estate commission is paid by the seller of the home. That means that you could have a Realtor making you their priority, showing you homes at your convenience, for nothing. It seems too good to be true, but it is.
I cringe when I hear this, “Oh, that’s okay, we don’t need an agent. We just call the listing agent on the properties we’re interested in to set up a showing.” Listing agents have a responsibility to negotiate for the seller of the home to get the most amount of money for their home. Buyer’s agents have a responsibility to negotiate for the most amount of home for the least amount of money. How can that agent fight for both sides? Would you feel comfortable in this situation?
There’s many people that don’t know this: You do not have to worry about liking the listings that particular agent has, because regardless of which agent or company has a property listed, we are able to sell anyone’s listings.
