First time home buyers are more than 85% of my business. Why are they so comfortable with me? I’m not a hard sell. My objective in this grand scheme of things is to educate my clients and give them my professional opinion. First time home buyers are typically scared to death. This is the largest purchase they will ever make in their life. Having someone by their side that will give them advice and point them in the right direction is comforting. I don’t believe in a hard sell and do not want to be responsible for their misfortune if they are unable to afford their mortgage payment due to overspending. I tend to air on the cautious, conservative side. My recommendation will always be to stay well within your means. (Keep in mind that I am paid on commission, and only, commission.)
Treat your first home, like your first home. Improvements can always be made slowly and over time as you save money to make repairs and upgrades.
